As we Catholics argue endlessly over what our pontiff, in his authority, should or shouldn’t do — despite threats of Masonic plots, communist infiltration, schism, bankruptcy, and the lavender mafia — we seldom stop to reflect how strange it is that Peter should still walk among us at all.

Gathered in his apostolic bond, we journey with him toward the heart of original continuity, the heart of the real — a walk on water, perhaps, even if only a few tentative steps, but each step closer to the Lord Himself, whom we might then witness firsthand, our still point in the raging storm, even as the levees crumble.

Have a look at Cecil B. DeMille's 1927 silent King of Kings, the actor who plays Peter, sort of looks like Liam Neeson, but his facial expressions and movements capture well Peter's struggle to become a new man, as gifted only by the Lord, in slow time.

What I enjoy so much of this song, and have since I first heard it, is you've placed yourself so far in the story, identified with the 12 to the point you're able to bring us with you to the table, where after 3+ years on those dusty roads, we're with Peter as he leads them in a drinking song as fishermen did and fishers of men still do, unknowing of what tomorrow will bring.

Love the song and the video of the 1927 flood, and as always your way of telling a story in words and song that I can vividly see in my mind's eye and feel with my heart.

I only know the first 2 bars of When the Levee Breaks, because that's one of the breaks I spin for MCs.
